PODCASTS

Podcasts have played a huge role in my life since I started listening to them in 2015. Podcasts provide an unfiltered and infinite amount of raw information on countless topics. You name it, I bet there's a podcast about it. I either watch them on YouTube or have them playing through the podcast app on the iPhone while doing just about anything around the house. I'm 95% of the time listening to one of my favorite shows while commuting.

Just like my books, I will list some of my favorite podcasts that have played a huge role in my growth as a human over the last few years.

If you have any suggestions please comment bellow or contact me through my email (support@treynewsom.com) or social media (@treynewsom)!

The JRE is where my podcasting experience began 5 years ago. Joe Rogan's style is transparent and I dig his eagerness to learn and be open to new ideas. His guests range from Astronomers, MMA Champs, Scientist, Activists, Hunters, Comedians, Story Tellers, and professionals of many fields. My #1 podcasts!

Ben is amongst the best of the best when it comes to personal training and bio hacking. He has a great podcast ranging from topics of boosting the immune system, cognitive function, fitness hacks, rituals / routines, EMF's, fasting / dieting, and much much more. I'm reading his book Beyond Training, and will pick up his new one Boundless soon.

Now while I do love some YouTube, I do not recommend spending any more of your already precious time aimlessly staring into a screen for minutes to hours on end. BUT I will dedicate some of my time to watch/listen to some of the podcasts listed above and also a few other YouTube channel favorites that I will list bellow. These channels or videos are what speak to me whether it's through lectures, outdoor bushcraft, travel, or creative "how to's." Click the images for the channel!

MY MAN, the late and great Alan Watts. Writer and lecturer who interpreted and popularized Eastern philosophy and religion for a Western audience. This mans lectures have played a large roll in my awakening and growth as a human being. If you're looking for some deep talks about the universe, ego, self love, anxiety, depression, spiritual enlightenment, and the taoist ways then check him out. I also have a few of his books listed for sale in my 'Things I Dig' section. Google his name and let the journey begin!

MUSIC! My life was born from music (literally, my parents met while play playing in a band in college) and it's rhythms and beats live deep within my blood and bones. My parents are artists and I 1000% inherited that creative gene. NPR's Tiny Desk Concerts are saving humanity. They feature just about anyone you've ever heard and have yet to heard into a close nit corner in an office (literal tiny desk) to perform 3 or so songs.

"Everybody knows that the old ideas won’t help us. Religion is dead. Capitalism is dead. Communism is dead. Where will the answers of the next century lie? Particularly, when we’re facing a mental health epidemic and ecological melt down." On this channel Russell explores new ways to connect with ourselves and one another and how to elevate our consciousness. He posts wellbeing and spirituality videos every Monday, Wednesday & Friday. This man is an incredible thinker and he vividly shares his struggles with his addictions with drugs, alcohol, and sex in his books.

If you are into Bushcraft, Back Country Camping, Wilderness Canoe Tripping, and Backpacking then look now further. Joe Robinet is one of my favorite Canadians and bushcraft adventurer and content creator. His knowledge of the wilderness and survival skills are amazing, but his best trait is being humble and having a great time doing what he loves. This channel was a big inspiration for me to start backpacking years ago and I haven't stopped since.

One of the BEST hosts/guests for podcast listening. I found Lex through the JRE a few years ago and love hearing their conversations ranging from  the nature of intelligence to consciousness, love, and power. Give him a  follow on IG and also hear him on ClubHouse talking more about those topics above.
